Charitable purposes
The charity’s purposes, for the public benefit, are:
To provide educational entertainment that informs, inspires, and engages people of all ages through creative, musical, cultural, and skills-based activities.
To promote health and wellbeing, including mental, emotional, and social wellbeing, through inclusive arts, music, and community programmes.
To relieve social isolation and loneliness, particularly among older people and vulnerable adults, by creating opportunities for social interaction, connection, and community participation.
To advance the arts and culture as a means of personal development, social inclusion, and community cohesion.
To support community development by bringing people together from diverse backgrounds and encouraging volunteering, participation, and mutual support.
To provide positive activities and support for young people, helping them develop confidence, life skills, employability, and resilience, and reducing the risk of social exclusion.
Public benefit
CHEER and My Band Sabula provide public benefit by offering inclusive and accessible activities that improve education, wellbeing, and social connection. The charity addresses key community needs, including:
- Social isolation and loneliness
- Limited opportunities for young people
- Poor mental and emotional wellbeing
- Lack of accessible creative and cultural engagement
All activities are open to the public or targeted at groups with specific needs. Any private benefit is incidental and outweighed by the significant public benefit delivered through the charity’s work.
